Tingewick Road, Buckingham

Background

Tingewick Road, Buckingham

There is a growing need for new homes across Buckinghamshire and providing new homes locally is incredibly important as a shortage of housing means that many local people are forced to move away from the area they grew up in.

To help to solve this housing shortage, Aylesbury Vale are bringing forward a new Local Plan to help provide the homes residents need. Buckingham Town Council have also produced the Buckingham Neighbourhood Plan and the Tingewick Road site is allocated as sites G and H, suitable for residential development.

Hallam Land previously promoted the site and were granted outline planning permission in January 2017. Barratt David Wilson have since designed a detailed scheme and received planning consent for:

  • Up to 400 new homes with associated car parking
  • Vehicular access from Tingewick Road
  • Up to 35% affordable housing
  • Significant new landscaped public open space, including around St Rumbolds Well
  • A new park
  • A new roundabout for the Tingewick Road/ A421 junction
  • Infrastructure contributions toward bus services, education and local services.
